Mississippi is the best-kept secret when it comes to authentic, creative artist in the fashion industry. I must admit dressing up with your friends and indulging in all things V.I.P at a fabulous event in the city must be on your to do list.
It's all about the experience and I was given one on this night. I decided to doll up in my cocktail ensemble and join my fashionistas for a V.I.P affair full of fashion and innovators at the Russell C Davis Planetarium located downtown Jackson, MS.
The intimate set up of New Era Fashion Showcase gave us privacy in a lounge ducked off from the main show room which consisted of catered food, private photographers, and networking amongst meeting the "Who's Who" in the industry- celebrity stylist JStayReady.
As we know fall is approaching and designers are dropping the latest fashion. I took note that Ken White delivered his collection of over 30 pieces weeks prior to New York Fashion Week, and it was worth every moment.
"Just so you know my eye's pierced through the fabrics taking note of details and finish seams of each handmade piece worn by a model. I discovered a story of sweat, sleepless nights and dedication which exuded impeccable art that turned into his collections".
The collection displayed everything classic, bold, sexy, elegant and very ingenious among the who's who in the city. His collection was extravagant and impressive. The New Era Fashion Show was by far one of the best I've experienced.
Models slayed the runway while every guest eyes seemed to crave for more. Ken White gave us an unbelievable entree' of fabric, textures, length, floral, bridal, fall trending colors and a desert full of gowns and glitterati embellishments that screamed sexy. Lets not forget the bold men who set the tone of a new kind of swagger that screamed "Lawd have mercy" with an energy that made you define what the "New Gentleman" appearance should look like. I must say Ken White is simply phenomenal.
Currently, the fashionisto is in pursuit of a degree in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He has already been accepted into the school, with a plane ticket ready to go. Take note that this young man is a visionary, naturally talented and very gifted. Ken White is a very young designer deserving of such advance education, given that he already has the God-given talent of authentic greatness. He is the go-to designer on your couture list.
