FIRST AND ONLY EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH RISING ARTIST POP.TART.
I've been anxiously waiting for this day to talk about this amazing and inspirational friend of mine named POP.TART. also known as Gregory Terrell Cox. He is a phenomenal musician, singer, songwriter and producer who doesn't cease to amaze the attention of our generation. His musical range is dope which landed him on P.Diddy's "Making his band" giving him international exposure that placed him on stage with some of the greatest musicians on earth. G.Cox is one talented guy with magic on his finger tips. So without further ado I present to you POP.TART. Why is your name POP.TART. ? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed your stage name before? It's just something that kinda happened. I think I just like it and people like it too. It was suppouse to be the orginal name of the album but it felt better as my name. I've never had a stage name, people know me as Gregory Cox, Terrell, G.Cox until now. When I thought of the name POP.TART. I smiled. What genre of music do you consider your work to be? When it comes to a specific genre I would not categorize it. But when it comes to trying to find this music in the store I would consider it POP music. Personally I would put it in it's own section in the store and call it " Whats Poppin". How long have you been into music? All my life, at the age of 12 I started writing and producing. I use to be in the cabinets beating pots and pans. My mom would be nervous because she would not know where I was and I would be in the cabinets beating the pots in the dark. She would turn the lights back on and I would stop and when she turned them off I would go at it again, It use to tickle her. What was the first album you bought for yourself? D'Angelo - VooDoo Did you have any posters on your wall as a kid? Yea I had these posters of the Rock from WWF and Brooker T. from WCW, man I was crazy about all of them. I use to get on the trampoline and use it as a ring and beat up my pillows. What and who inspired you to make music the way in which you do? I believe that the gift of creativity comes from the creator God. My daughter, people and life inspire me to make music. There is not one day on this earth that is the same. People that inspire me to make music are A Tribe called Quest, Q Tip, Michael Jackson, Jay Z, Fred Hammond, Kanye West, Prince, Pharrell, Timberland, and the list goes on. Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations? No, I'm a independent artist. Who writes your songs? Me, POP.TART, man April you inspire me!!. (laughing out loud) What is your biggest talent as a Artist? Just by examining myself it all serves the same purpose it's the art. Im a artist, musician, singer, songwriter which equals to a all around artist making me able to produce and combine the music I create.
